Brad was the pastor who confirmed me, and is a family friend. When
Eric asked me to marry him, I told my mom to tell Brad right away that
he was going to officiate our wedding :) We decided to do pre-marital
counseling, and Brad met Eric and I several times over several months
at a location that was close to our house. We even met for pizza and
beer while we discussed financial planning. I strongly recommend doing
premarital counseling. We talked about different methods of dispute
resolution, and also learned about the areas in which we needed to
grow as a couple. Because Brad had experience in the financial
industry, we were also able to have a session or two about our
finances and budget, which was really helpful. I think that in any
relationship, it is important to talk about and think about your
relationship, and do what is necessary to "maintain" it or make it
grow. That is why I am so glad that we did premarital counseling with
Brad.

It was great to plan the ceremony with Brad. He has officiated
weddings for 15 years, so he definitely was able to help us with the
structure of our wedding and he had sample wedding programs for us to
look at too. Eric and I got to choose our readings and our vows.

Brad did an excellent job at our rehearsal. We had a HUGE wedding
party and he was able to keep us under control. Even better, though,
was what a great job he did on our wedding day. The message part of
the service was really special, and it was very fitting for Eric and
I. It made our day even more special.

I would recommend using Brad at Devoted Hearts to anyone who is planning a non-traditional or traditional ceremony. He did a great job as our officiant.
